AITAP Minutes, April 8, 2002

Attending: Walter Froese, Michael Quiner, Marilyn Ponti, Mary Luckstead, Sarah Jones, Jed Schwendiman, Ron Urban, Brian Dohe, & Cheryl Schreindl.

Agenda items discussed:

staff@whitman E-mail Distribution List

Jed asked about the response to the staff@whitman.edu inquiry. The group agreed to the following consensus:

The discussion also included community@whitman.edu, and whether to require all staff and faculty to be a member and then unsubscribe to be removed. The consensus was to keep the community list in its current form.

WebAdvisor workflows

Michael shared a handout on the budget and stipend options that will soon be available to all on WebAdvisor. These are the web access to Datatel Colleague. The group discussed concerns on viewing other departmental budgets. Walter said the business office takes an open view that budgets are public information and we need to be able to backup any purchase or transaction that takes place. The information available is summary information but with the next release there will be more drill down or detail options. Other options could include: class add and drop information, and change of address for faculty and staff. The change of address option generated a lot of concern regarding consistency and post office approved formatting.

Equipment Allocation Status

All new and reallocated equipment should be in place. Admission said they were still waiting on a student computer, and Jed said Nancy Tavelli was waiting for a new computer. Michael asked if there were new or reallocations scheduled that had not been completed—please let him know.

New Items

Marcus server is here and ready to be replaced, Corporate Time licenses are available to departments that want them. Resource25 the conferences and events scheduling software is planned to be fully implemented after commencement.

New business

Cheryl asked about links between duplications and report time. At this time the duplicates are not prolonging the run time but may need to be addressed in the future. It is a subject Datatel is aware of.
