POSITION PURPOSE
The Application Support Developer is responsible for supporting the
faculty, staff and students with the use of desktop, networked, and
administrative application software. This includes providing training,
documentation, and necessary tools. This position collaborates with other
members of Technology Services to provide an information technology
environment that is consistent with the goals of Whitman College and meets
the needs of faculty, staff, and students.

- Plans, coordinates, designs, schedules, conducts and evaluates
technology-related seminars and workshops for students, faculty and staff.

Oracle Calendar, CLEo).

- Actively participate in the preparation and dissemination of
both paper-based and Web-based documentation and handouts regarding WCTS
services.

- administering the operations and activities of the administrative

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Individuals must posses these knowledge, skills, and abilities or be
able to explain and demonstrate that the individual can perform the
essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation,
using some other combination of skills and abilities and to possess the
necessary physical requirements with or without the aid of mechanical
devices, to safely perform the essential functions of the job.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in:
- operation of microcomputer equipment and other peripheral
devices.
- the installation of PC microcomputer applications in a networked
environment.
- teaching and user training.

- consulting users on various software, hardware and network
problems.
- Strong service orientation.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and ability to establish and maintain cooperative and harmonious working relationships with a variety of campus constituencies.
- A proven ability to make technical issues understandable and an ability to match technical opportunities to college goals.
- Preferred skills include experience in a supervisory role, experience
in multimedia production in higher education environment, experience in user services in higher education and experience beyond the minimum requirement.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- A bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology or other relevant field.
- A minimum three year experience in microcomputer user support in an educational environment.
- A minimum two years experience in teaching.
- Satisfactory clearance of background check required.
