POSITION PURPOSE
Director, Enterprise Technology, works in parallel
with the Deputy Director of Enterprise Technology, and is responsible for
planning, development and operation of the college enterprise technology
services.. As a member of Whitman
College Technology Services (WCTS), this position collaborates with IT members to provide an
information technology environment that is consistent with the goals of Whitman College and meets the needs of faculty, staff, and students.

- Provides leadershp in the enterprise technology by:
- Administering the operation and activities of the Enterprise
Technology group.
- Coordinating the development and implementation of an Enterprise
Technology Plan for the College.
- Facilitating communication among college community regarding
activities of the Enterprise Technology Group.

- Serve as a member of the IT Management Team whose responsibiolitoies include, but are not limited to the following:
- Determining the applicability of new technological developments and
recommending appropriate usage.
- Preparing and implementing the planning documents for IT
- Recommedning, approving, and/or executing purchase of technology
hardware and software.
- Providing opportunities for training and professional development
for the IT staff.
- Formulating IT policies and procedures.

Maintain professional contacts with other colleges, associations,
organizations and vendors concerning emerging technology and equipment.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Individuals must posses these knowledge, skills, and abilities or be
able to explain and demonstrate that the individual can perform the
essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation,
using some other combination of skills and abilities and to possess the
necessary physical requirements with or without the aid of mechanical
devices, to safely perform the essential functions of the job.
- Requisite skills to administer an ERP for an educational institution.
- Requisite technical skills in information assurance and identity
management..
- Functional knowledge of risk assessment processes.
- Excellent conceptual and anlytical skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to participatory management and a strong
service orientation.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and ability to
establish and maintain cooperative and harmonious working relationships
with a variety of campus constituents.
- A proven ability to make technical issues understandable and an
ability to match technical opportunities to college goals.
- Preferred skills include experience in information asurance,
Datatel/Envision programming, SQL query and report
writing, higher education enterprise computing environment, user services
in higher education, and experience beyond minimum requirement.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- A bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology,
information assurance, or other relevant field.
- A minimum of five (5) years experience in administrative technology,
management information system, or information assurance.
- Satisfactory clearance of background check required.
