Scheduled Events: Pooled Investments

Description:

The Pooled Investments Module of the Financial System is a management tool designed to provide a tracking system of investments and endowments. Maintenance of investments pools, designation of investments managers, tracking share value history, creating pool General Ledger (GL) and cash pool GL accounts, creating cash equity GL accounts, definition of equity units, tracking donors and restrictions, distributing and posting activity and issuing Investment Unit Statements are primary components of the module's functionality. This course is only taught on-site.

Purpose:

The Pooled Investments class is a combination of training and consulting to provide users with knowledge and skills to make decisions regarding the implementation and use of the Pooled Investments module. Specifically, the class provides:

  • An overview of Colleague's financial system and the relationship other modules have to the Pooled Investments module
  • A thorough presentation of the capabilities of the Pooled Investments module
  • A guided planning session on use and setup of the Pooled Investments module
  • Hands-on experience with the module

Audience:

  • Controllers and/or investment managers with decision making responsibility
  • Computer center staff responsible for Financial system support

Prerequisites:

  • "Live" processing on Colleague's Financial system
  • Completion of General Ledger training
  • Review of endowment/investment account management

Course Length:

One day - 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
