Description: Re-engineering departments? Streamlining procedures?
Improving service to students? Activities like these are happening at many
campuses in an effort "do more with less" and create new ways of doing
business based on modern technology and business practices.
This hands-on workshop takes a practical, case study approach to business
process improvement techniques. These techniques can be applied to
improving operations in offices across our institution. Throughout the
workshop we alternate among theory and concepts, practical exercises using
process improvement tools, and linking these ideas to practical busines
problems faced by our organization. Specifically, the workshop provides:
- a review of re-engineering concepts
- process analysis techniques, focusing on process mapping
- process diagnosis techniques, including qualitative and quantitative
measurements target performance indicators
- translation of these concepts to our institution's critical
processes
