IMPLEMENTATION PROJECT TEAM
January 14, 2000

Attending: Jim Ply, Varga Fox, Jenny Miles, Nellie Newer, Stephanie Johnson, Tony Cabasco, Cindy Waring, Mary Luckstead, Barbara Barlow, Susan Healy, Keiko Pitter

There is a meeting with Jim Andersen and Dean Nichols on February 18 at 9 a.m. This time folks from HR/Payroll (probably Cindy Waring), Admissions (Stephanie Johnson and/or Tony Cabasco), and Residence Life (probably Nancy Tavelli) will need to attend.

Keiko Pitter, Stephanie Johnson, and Varga Fox will attend the Datatel Users Group meeting in Washington DC in March.

HR/Paryoll

  • Hold off on Student payroll until July, 2000. Students bio data has been entered and checked. Susan Copeland from Financial Aid entered the data--fantastic job.
  • Leave plans will not be implemented this month due to policy changes that are required for the way vacation will now be processed. Cindy plans to meet with all supservisory staff to review the new policy before the implementation.

Admission

  • Hired a new temp and also extended the previously half time temp to a full.
  • Documenting processes for Datatel.
  • Setting up codes for conversion.
  • Working with outside vendors for importing prospect info (student search)
  • Data mapping finalized.
  • Rules consulting next week.
  • Working on communication codes.
  • Setup end-user training sessions for the last week in January. Identified the staff who will do the training.
  • February 4-6 live dta conversion - then freeze data entry.
  • Feb 15--start entering data in new system.

Financial Aid

  • Consulting at the end of the month.
  • Varga will visit with folks from other institutions during DUG.
Registrar
  • 200+ live courses have been entered in LIVE account.
  • Degree audit consulting at the end of the month.

Residence Life

  • Plugging along to go live in April, 2000.
  • Will hold off on Roommate matching and lottery until Fall, 2000, to use for spring, 2001. Can use the legacy system for Spring 2000.
Business Ofifce
  • In training this week.

Core

  • Haven't met for a while. Prety much done, dealing with issues by email for now.
Jim Ply
  • Payroll, while a lot of work, is going well. All payroll other than Students (which will come live in July, 2000) will be processed on the new system on January 24.
  • Residence Life - Ken Paine worked with them to define the go-live schedule. Jim is reviewing it now.
