Chief Technology Officer

  • Laser printing solution: downloaded and installed demo for PrintLogic software and printed some reports. This program will be used to make reports "look good." The idea is to create reports using Datatel..then map Datatel reports to a report designed using the FormPort" software. Rich will train users. Admission wants to start using this in June. Registrar--before Fall registration. Business Office wants to design the AP check in early June.
  • Schedule25: now (4/21) installed. John Westin and Ron will work on this. Jenny would like to schedule classrooms for Fall 2000 using this software. Keiko asked Jenny to have a contingency plan.
  • Resource25: migrating EMS users to Resource 25 for event management.
  • Activities & Events: Admission would like to use this module for managing events for prospects. Jim Ply will schedule training from Datatel.
  • CollegeNet: Datatel interface for CollegeNet has been installed. Admission has not yet signed the contract. John Bogley will pursue.
  • Performance Evaluation: Bob Chapelle from Datatel (Jim's supervisor) will be on campus on May 3 to conduct Jim's performance evaluation.
  • Campus Organization Module: will schedule a demo over our videoconference unit.
  • scratched Physical Plant and Inventory modules.

Registrar

  • Done with pre-registration. Worked quite smoothly for the most part. Co-req and pre-req checking worked.
  • Still need to convert transfer courses--have a temp to do the equivalencies. Other vixes to converted data.
  • Used cross-listing, worked really well. Webadvisor display is confusing on these.
  • WebAdvisor: Ben to meet with Registrar office to talk about which screen to make available. Only had class enrollment displayed for registration.

Financial Aid

  • Consulting this week cancelled due to ill consultant. So met with Jim Ply, Ken Paine and Barbara Barlow to discuss timeline. Decided to run scholarship assignment on the legacy system. Will conduct conversion in September after this is done.
  • Working on parallel test and live entry.
  • Getting some help from Whitworth College.
  • Starting weekly meeting again.
  • Having problems with CSS data import. Will do phone consulting on May 1.

Admission

  • Behind on student search entry...7000 prospects behind.
  • Barb defaulted some data into speed up entry. Tony did some rules to speed it too. Four temps start Monday to do entry.
  • Working on AR (enrollment deposit) in test. Rules consulting helped with rules for this.
  • Worked with consultant on communication management--most of email issues are now resolved, as are VPC screen erros. Helped with tracks.
  • Start working on SAT ELF import.
  • Meeting with Ken to finalize schedule for May data conversion.
  • Half-done with correction of word substittuion data conversion problems.
  • Working on some special forms in Word.

Business Office

  • Starting to look at AP. Have a temp entering vendors now. We have 10,000 vendors to enter!
  • Designing input forms.
  • Need to design AP checks...want to use FormPort.
  • Need to train campus staff. Rich Hinz will work with Business Office folks.
  • Would like one last phone consulting with Mike Ionno before putting chart into live.
  • Teleconference with Kronos--researching time entry methods to Colleague.
  • Payroll--found some coding glitches--amounts did not all go to correct budgets. Fixing that now.
  • AR -- working on prebill process, have a statement that looks pretty good.
  • Working on gift interface.

HR/Payroll

  • Ken is writing Safari report for payroll.
  • Susan working on Excel query for salary letters.

Jim Ply

  • Project is proceeding on schedule.
  • May 4 mock registration will involve all offices. Jim is working on scheduling who needs to attend when.
