IMPLEMENTATION PROJECT TEAM
Minutes for meeting of March 5, 1999

Members present:Tony Cabasco, Nancy Farrington, Walter Froese, Susan Healy, Stephanie Johnson, Jenny Miles, Keiko Pitter.

Training
Keiko is trying to schedule on-site training with Datatel. It's been a bit difficult meshing our schedule with theirs. Keiko will discuss with Datatel in DC next week how they will support our needs when their customer base is increasing.

It is not critical that everyone attends every training. There has to be enough people with the training who can share expertise with others. If the knowledge is essential, WCTS will offer follow up classes to make sure that everyone gets the needed training.

Nancy asked if the two upcoming Core classes were the same or different. They are different. Check the Scheduled Events section of this web page for more details on classes and schedules. Keiko will be keeping this section current. Only classes which need to be shceduled immediately are listed - there will be many more classes than you see now.

Documentation
The documentation from Datatel is still at the printer. They will be distributed as soon as they are ready.

Director's Roundtable Presentation
Keiko gave a PowerPoint presentation about the AIS project at the Director's Roundtable meeting this week. It was well received, and Tom Cronin suggested that similar presentations be given to other groups. Keiko will be glad to repeat it for any interested office. You can schedule this through Chris Young.

Feedback From Outside Sources
Keiko reminded everyone not to get discouraged by hearing comments that the system is not able to support some needed function. Quite often, it is the lack of understanding on user or institution's part. (caused by lack of training or institutional politics or whatever..) If you're concerned, contact Keiko or Susan for verification.

Note: At the same time, there are some system limitations.

Core
Susan mentioned that Core training would be starting in April and that the first item to discuss was demographics. The Core team will have its first meeting the week of March 22 (after she returns from training in San Francisco).
