Assistance for ResNet

ResNet is supported by ResNet Assistants who work for WCTS.  They act as on-site tech-support person.  They can:

  • Troubleshoot ethernet network connection
  • Offer suggestions for improving wireless reception.
  • Assist setup of client-side software to connect to Whitman's network resources (ex: email, netFiles etc).
  • Direct students to computer resources available on campus

NOTE: The ResNet Student Assistants will not be available until the 1st week of school. They have a limited number of time slots each week to help students with their network connections. Check with your residence director or the consultant in the library consultant's office for contact information for your hall's ResNet assistant.

Regular WCTS staff will not make house-calls to residence hall rooms.  Also, they will not install or repair personally owned computers.

WCTS supports the network wiring, up to and including the wall jacks in the room.  If you suspect network connectivity problem, contact the Help Desk helpdesk@whitman.edu or x4976.
