1. JAPANEASE I&II Interactive tutor for learning the two phonetic syllabariea for modern Japanese. Long overdue.

I would like to see these programs purchased and placed in the LLC for use by students who are studying Japanese.

2. JAPANESE FOR EVERYONE CD-ROM for stidents of Japanese Language utlizing the "hear and speak" approach. Takes user through a series of situational dialogues. Good
supplement to text-based materials.

outcome:

1. The purpose is to allow students to gain mastery of these two sets of 48 symbols as rapidly and efficiently as possible.

2. The purpose is to have materials avaialbe in the LLC for studetns to learn at their own pace as supplemental materials to the textbook.

timeline:

Spring 1998, purchase, install, familoarize. Begin use in Fall of 1998.
