Name: Sofia Paredes & Marisela F. Nyoka

INSTITUTION: Lewis & Clark College

LANGUAGE: Spanish

STATUS: Full-time, temporary

TYPE: TravelFellowship

TITLE: Indigenous People in Ecuador and Mexico

DURATION: Three weeks (April 5-19, 2000)

DESCRIPTION: Our project focuses on contemporary issues, which Indigenous People of Ecuador and Mexico are facing. To complete the last part of this project, there is a need to transfer it to the Web to make it available to all the members of the Mellon Consortia. Currently, the project is in Digital Chisel format, which is not cross-platform and has many limitations for Web transference.

OUTCOME: To be able to deliver this project on the Web, Authorware is a very promising program. We are proposing to take a course on this program at PSU this coming spring. To take this course would be of great benefit for us and it would allow us to complete our project.

TIMELINE: The project has been tested on its current format (Digital Chisel). This fall, the literature part of the project will be tested with our students. During the course at PSU, we will begin transferring the project to Authorware. We foresee that our entire project will be completed the summer of 2000.
