Brief Descriptiom of Projects:

* Second-year Multimedia Lessons: I will finish developing the two remaining lessons for the textbook Fuentes used in Spanish 201-202 and convert the existing ones to the new platform based version of the former XMedia Engines. A few of these lessons have already been used during Spring Sernester 1998 proving to be of great aid to the language professors and the students in enhancing and facilitating the teaching and undCTStanding of readings related to specific themes. Parts of these lessons have also been used by instructors of other level courses, thus expanding the use of one lesson to different classes.

* Multimedia Lessons for Spanish 102-201 sequence- I will develop lessons related to material used in this course following the chapters from the book Puentes. This is a special course with very specific grammar and curricular needs. It was developed with the objective of giving students with some knowledge of the language a chance to finish their language requirement in one year, covering material from the second pan of first year in the first sernester and the first part of second year in the second semester. These lessons, as the ones, for the book Fuentes, will be developed in such a way that they can be used following the textbook organization, or individually. This format will allow professors from other level courses to use them too, even if they are not teaching with Puentes.

* Visiting Latin American Countries: With the help of the Student Assistant, I will design lessons and Web Pages on different countries; especially where Lewis & Clark has overseas programs. Having professors and instructors from six different Latin American countries in the Department will make it easier to get original and interesting material to Create different units describing distinctive aspects of geography, history, culture and politics, reflected in pictures, video, music, interviews with locals, newspaper and magazine articles, etc.

* Personal Web Page- I have begun, and propose to continue, creation of my own Web page, which when in MI use will be the site my students will use to find course Curricula, grammar handouts, assignments, exercises, links to other pages, such as newspapers, magazines, Universities in Latin American countries, etc. I will also use it as a forum for discussions assigned in the lessons.
