  • Because of the dangers nation-wide of recent denial of service attacks and several recent attempts (some successful) to break into the Whitman system, WCTS is proposing an Acceptable Use Policy that would define what is and is not appropriate use of the campus computing system.

    Without an AUP there are no accepted norms for sharing finite resources and protecting them from misuse.

    A draft policy goes before AITAG (Academic Information Technology Advisory Group) in late March and then to the policy committee soon thereafter.
