  • Whether you"re using a PC or a Mac, several network printers are available for your use. Always make sure you know where the print job is going before sending it Ð if someone has reset the destination, your paper could show up in another building on campus!

The main computer labs have laser printers in them. As you print on a networked printer, remember: print jobs have to travel over the network. Be patient. If your document still hasn"t printed five minutes after you sent the command, ask a lab assistant for help. Sending a second print request will make things worse. And, don"t print multiple copies Ð use a copier instead, that"s what they"re for.

A color laser printer is available in Olin for $1.00 a page, and a large-format color plotter is available in Hunter 404. Inquire at the Multimedia Development Lab about use and pricing for the color plotter.

To print on a networked printer from a Macintosh:
If you need to choose a printer other than the one cuurently selected, select Chooser from the Apple menu. Click on LaserWriter 8, then Academic Zone, and choose the printer closest to you (they are all named something like Olin Lab Laser).

To print on a networked printer from a PC:
Select the printer using the print options within the software applications you are using.
