Datatel, the campus administrative information system, is undergoing a major system upgrade from version 16, to revision 17 (known as r17). Revision 16 has been used on campus since the software was initially implemented two years ago.

Datatel r17 includes major enhancements to the Human Resource and Payroll modules, but will also allow for greater access to vital system data by students and faculty via the web. In addition, the upgrade will also improve the speed and efficiency of the database and management components. These enhancements will also include tools to help us comply with new federal reporting guidelines under SEVIS (the Student Exchange and Visitor Information System).

The various business offices on campus are testing the enhanced capabilities of r17 in preparation for going live with Datatel revision 17 on April 12, 2003.
