You will be able to keep your Whitman College Students account for one year following graduation. That means your email account as well as any web pages you have posted in your Students directory will remain just as they are. We will send you a message when you have about a month left so you have time to back up or move any mail or files you wish to save. Please follow the same guidelines we recommend for the summer however, so your inbox doesn't get too big if you are not going to be checking your mail regularly: make sure you unsubscribe from lists, set appropriate vacation messages, keep your inbox cleaned out as often as you can, or consider forwarding your Whitman mail to an email account that you will be checking more frequently.
Be extra vigilant about protecting yourself from viruses that may come with email! One thing you won't have during this next year is the added protection of Postini's automatic virus and spam filtering for your Students email account. That is a service only available during your time on campus. So watch out for attachments, and make sure you keep your antivirus software on your computer up to date!
