CLEo, WinApp and Web Services

CLEo, WinApp and most Web Services will be down from 5:00 - 9:00 pm Thursday, January 8th, for routine maintenance.

WHAT THIS MEANS AND WHO IS AFFECTED:

All CLEo sites and mailing lists will be unavailable during the downtime. Any messages sent to CLEo lists will be queued for later delivery.

Windows Application Server (winapp):

This affects all students, faculty, and staff using software that is based on the network (such as SPSS, Minitab, Eviews, Maple and PinPoint). You should not be running any applications which reside on winapp. Make sure you close your files and applications before 5:00 PM on Thursday. You may need to shutdown and restart your computer Friday morning in order to re-establish your connection to the server.

Web Services:

Most services accessed via the web will be unavailable during the downtime. This includes the main Whitman webpage, Quack, Webadvisor, CLEo, the Service Request/Inventory system, the Whitman directory, and People Search.

netFiles and Webmail will remain available during this downtime.

Administrative System

The administrative system (Datatel), will be down Wednesday, January 7th from 5:00 to 8:00 PM for routine maintenance.

Administrative System (Datatel):

All access to the Administrative system (Datatel), including WebAdvisor and Quack, will not be available while the system is down for maintenance.

Email Services

All email services (except for those that use the Zimbra email system), will be down Tuesday, January 6th from 5:00 to 8:00 PM for routine maintenance.

WHAT THIS MEANS AND WHO IS AFFECTED:

Faculty/staff mail server (marcus):

Faculty/staff will not be able to access their email by any method (including webmail). Faculty/staff homepages will be inaccessible during the downtime. Incoming mail will not be delivered while marcus is down. New mail will be queued on-campus and delivered once marcus is back up.

Student mail server (students):

Students will not be able to access their email by any method (including webmail). Student homepages will be inaccessible during the downtime. Incoming mail will not be delivered while students is down. New mail will be queued on-campus and delivered once students is back up.
