The netFiles server (netfiles.whitman.edu), the GoPrint server (goprint.whitman.edu), and the Windows Application server (winapp.whitman.edu) were down Thursday, June 14th from 6:30 to 7:30 PM for routine maintenance.

WHAT THIS MEANS AND WHO IS AFFECTED:

netFiles:

This affects all students, faculty, and staff using the netFiles servers for network storage. You should not be working on any documents or files stored on netFiles as you may lose changes or damage the documents that you have open while the servers are shut down. Make sure you close your files before 6:30 PM on Thursday.

GoPrint:

You will not be able to print to any printer that is managed by GoPrint (including lab printers) during the downtime.

Windows Application Server (winapp):

This affects all students, faculty, and staff using software that is based on the network (such as Eviews, Maple, PinPoint, and ArcGIS). You should not be running any applications which reside on winapp. Make sure you close your files and applications before 6:30 PM on Thursday. You may need to shutdown and restart your computer Friday morning in order to re-establish your connection to the server.

Millenium Server (edgar):

This affects users of the Millenium software only. For Millenium users, please be aware that failure to completely exit from the Millenium software before 6:30 PM may result in data loss or corruption. You may need to reboot your machine on Friday morning in order to re-establish contact with the Millenium server.
